Halloween iQ Test and other spooky iOS apps

HalloweenIQTest

If you need an excuse to check out more iOS apps then Halloween is another really good reason. There’s no shortage of ghostly inspired apps, so if you must indulge here are a spooky half-dozen to keep you entertained as you consume those sugary treats.

How well do your friends know Halloween? Have them take the Halloween IQ test to find out. Better yet, with the apps artificial intelligence engine, why not have it determine their IQ, which can be done by simply scanning their eyeballs with the iPhone’s FaceTime camera.  But remember, this is Halloween and things are not necessarily as they seem, so there’s more trick than treat.  Simply launch the app, turn up the volume, hit continue and hand your phone to your friend. Let them watch as the app scans their left eye, then their right eye and finally both eyes together. I strongly suggest that you quietly take a step back or maybe two and wait. I won’t tell you any more as it might ruin the fun.

candyHorror

If you like playing games and enjoy Halloween candy then this game whose name is quite a mouthful might be a great one for you. It’s Halloween Horror Candy Saga Fever.  While its play style may seem familiar, this one has a sweet little twist, pardon the pun, as it features three different game modes. The first is Survival Mode where you need to be careful where you tap. The cake tiles are okay but watch out for the black ones. There’s also a Time Mode where you can test your speed to see how fast you can go in half a minute as well as a Distance Mode and as the name suggests sees how far you can make it with the cake tiles.

HallowenHavoc

For a little more fun, check out Halloween Havoc Night, where catching monsters is what you need to do to survive. As a villager, you’ll be met with all different kinds of scary creatures from zombies and mummies to vampires and ghosts. You need to be ready. Your quest is to quickly trap them in a box with letting it fall. If it does your monster escapes and you need to catch them all over again.

 HalloweenVegas

If you’re a little too scared to chase after ghost and goblins and prefer to spend the spooky evening with Lady Luck, then Halloween Mega Slots – Vegas Casino Lucky Jackpot Blitz, another mega mouthful, might be the game for you. It plays like many other slot machine games but of course, features a Halloween theme. Instead of cherries and bells you get pumpkins, black hats, black cats and gravestones.  The developer warns that you should be of legal age in your country of residence to play and that payout odds do not reflect real-life physical or space online slot machines. So remember, it’s just a game.

 Halloween Hidden Object

If you’re the curious kind, then check out Halloween Hidden Object where you can explore one of eight different Halloween locations. Your quest is to search for objects from the dark locations while exploring the world of hidden objects. There are various game modes with the difficulty level increasing with each adventure. There are over 50 objects to discover and if you’re like me you can also use the hint panel when you’re almost ready to give up. The app has cool sound and visual effects including HD graphics and sure to keep you busy, perhaps for eternity.

HalloweenSoundBox

And finally, Halloween Spooky Sound Box Free is a cool little app by Cookie Balloon LLC. It features 50 free Halloween sound effects to keep you in that spooky mood. Some of the effects include a beast’s roar, chainsaw, clown screams and clown laughs, creaking door,  funeral march, “Freddie’s coming” and a whole lot more. The sound buttons feature lush graphics and are fully customizable. When you download the app all the sounds come with it so no Internet connection is required.

All these apps are free and available via the iTunes App Store.  Happy Halloween!

And if you live in a Daylight Savings Time zone, then make sure after you consume all that candy to set your clocks back before you go to sleep.
